I\u2019m talking about cards from the 1950s\u20131970s, especially key players and Hall of Famers. With vintage, condition matters more than daily comps. People aren\u2019t refreshing sold listings every five minutes\u2014they\u2019re looking at eye appeal, scarcity, and history. That stability is huge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vintage doesn\u2019t rely on hype cycles. The demand has been there for decades, and the best cards continue to get harder to find. That\u2019s why I\u2019m comfortable holding them long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Modern<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Modern cards are tricky. They can be profitable, but they\u2019re volatile. Prices can drop overnight from one bad auction or a single underperforming game. Because of that, I\u2019m very selective.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When I do buy modern, it\u2019s usually:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Key rookies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Star QBs or generational players<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Short prints, low-numbered, or graded cards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I avoid overpaying, even if the player is hot. If the numbers don\u2019t make sense, I pass.
